【主講人簡介】
Kenneth Martin is a principal engineer with the Electric Power Group (EPG). He has over 45 years’ experience in the electric utility industry, first at the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) in communication, precise timing, instrumentation, and testing. He started working with synchrophasor measurement with the first PMUs in 1987 and conducted the first PMU lab tests. He developed the phasor measurement system at BPA including building the first phasor data concentrator, and supported similar developments at many utilities. Mr. Martin chaired the development of the IEEE C37.118 Synchrophasor standard series was a lead for developing the IEC 61850, TR 90-5. He is the convener for the WG that developed the joint IEC-IEEE 60255-118-1 synchrophasor measurement standard and chaired development of the synchrophasor communication standard, IEEE 2664. Mr. Martin is a Fellow of the IEEE and a registered Professional Engineer. He has authored or co-authored more than 90 technical papers and articles and has received several engineering technical awards.
【講座內(nèi)容】
This lecture will cover recent developments in lEC and lEEE standards for synchrophasor systems. The measurement standard, lEC/IEEE 60255-118-1, is just entering a revision process. Requirements for distribution system measurements will be added following an investigation of the requirements. Other requirements will be added as needed, such as PMU performance levels and a measurement figure of merit. This lecture will also review two communication standard developments. The synchrophasor data transfer lEEE C37.118.2 has just been revised for the first time since it was published in 2011. This revision adds additional commands for remote configuration and lost data recovery. lt also adds capability for asynchronous status messages and adds options for data quality. Communication standard lEEE 2664 covering the STTP protocol has just been completed. lt has been developed for any kind of streaming data, though primarily for synchrophasors. It provides measurement oriented data selection, a wide range of sample rates and built-in security and data compression.
